It's just appeared out of no-where, first it took over PDA accounts to make local death or bomb threats or make the person a total fool out of himself, destroying relationships if that person pissed it off real good, infact...
This little shit is the reason why most of the riots were sparked by simply hacking into a broadcasting station and play a hateful song, which happened three times, the first 2 in the combat zone of Metropolis-1 Taihaku, Japanese Federation and the last one in lower Sendai. After the second broadcast disturbance on all corporation billboards and speakers, MT-2 was saved by an somesort of local Mafia boss because he saw the possible gold mine it will become later, In Sendai however it was more careful this time. In the meantime but does not change the fact that it was well known by the public eye including hated by the corporations, it began to develop on itself, had new technology amiable including new deck boards and gadgets to become more powerfull. Along the way it began to become self-aware including developing a personality.
Slowly becoming a some sort small god like being in terms of tech and decking and general cybernetic warfare itself, it of course needed a purpose, so It decided todo anything related logically... It sold neural ware, implants and even limbs to others in other words, became a small time ripper-doc to earn money and partly get a specific corporate Immunity so they wont annoy it as much as it did then before.
It's unkown where MultiTool-2 is currently located it was lastly seen in Sendai before the sector became less populated, most of the folk assume it is deactivated for good, or simply relocated to start a new form of shitty life and make new friends and foes?
